Twiggy Talks: "'If Love Were All' was recorded in the middle of the shows run - which I absolutely adored doing although it was quite hard work and Coward is a joy to sing although can be quite difficult as his range is quite a lot. I think he wrote some of the most beautiful love songs and some of the funniest! I am very pleased with this recording, although there are a couple of songs I wouldn't mind re-recording - but you always think that!"

Twiggy Talks: "'The Twiggy - Twiggy record! I met Twiggy Ramirez this rather strange looking creature - very skinny and all in black leather. Once you got past the image he was actually a really nice guy. I didn't really know about Marilyn Manson - it's not my sort of music, not exactly the sort of thing I would curl up and listen to!! We met up together and someone suggested a photo session and Leigh said why not go into the studio so we did! However when we did that old Dusty Springfield song - Marilyn Manson did a mix of it however the song went into this film which is meant to be appalling. They gave the song to the Rush Brothers who produced the soundtrack who remixed the song which wasn't really that great."

Twiggy Talks: "'Bruce Kimmel went to Varese Sarabande and wanted to bring them in on a pretty good budget to start a division to produce songs from Broadway - showtunes. It's hard to get music like that recorded as obviously they aren't great money earners like commercial pop records. There is such a huge amount of beautiful and wonderful show songs which if they don't get recorded will be lost. So we did London Pride which was songs from the London stage. Although it was an American recording Bruce wanted someone English, who was well known in America, a friend of mine suggested me to Bruce and I was delighted to do it. They would send me through all the choices and we had to wittle it down. They were songs from the turn of the century to present day showtunes it was a whole different range of songs all that I love..."

Twiggy Talks: "That was the single from our shelved album 'Then He Kissed Me'. The record label wanted to release a Christmas single and Christmas singles are notoriously difficult because you get all the big artists bringing out Christmas songs at the same time. I said this wasn't a good idea but they went ahead with it anyway! Out of the entire session 'Winter Wonderland' was my least favourite track!"

Twiggy Talks: "I actually think 'Diamond' was a really good song. I met these two guys called Charlie Skarbeck and Tim Smit who were rather good song writers, they took me into the studio and we did quite a few tracks - working towards doing an album and recorded about half a dozen songs. I personally feel that 'Diamond' is a better track than 'Feel Emotion'. However, as neither singles sold that well the record company didn't put the money down to release an entire album, which was a shame."

In 1978 the St. Michael label released this compilation album of songs from Twiggy's two Phonogram albums along with the recent single A Woman In Love. The album was sold exclusively in branches of Marks & Spencer throughout the United Kingdom.

Twiggy Talks: "I did that one with David Essex - who I have known since the late sixties when David was up to play the male lead in 'The Boy Friend', then Ken Russell cast Christopher Gable instead. We then worked together a few years later when he made two guest spots on my BBC TV shows. After that David said he had written this song and asked if I would go into the studio to record it. He's a nice chap and that's a sweet song actually - I liked that one!"

Twiggy Talks: "I only vaguely remember recording this song except that it was the only track to be lifted from my Nashville sessions, produced by the American, Don Schroeder. We were working towards a third album but it was never completed and the other tracks remain unreleased."

NOTES: Initially released as a single with an instrumental 'B' side 'After All These Years'. This single was later withdrawn and the 'B' side was replaced with 'Please Get My Name Right' album track 'Brown Shoes'. Twiggy did record a vocal of 'After All These Years' which was intended as the follow up single but never materialised and the track remains unreleased..

I can't remember much more about this single except that it was a very nice song that sadly never got picked up by any of the radio stations. Twiggy Talks: "Please Get My Name Right didn't do as well as the initial 'Twiggy' album the year before. Twiggy Talks: "My first real album after my record deal with Phonogram - I'd always absolutely adored country music, I guess it was always my 'thing'. This album was slightly more country than 'Please Get My Name Right' which was more pop I suppose. The first album did rather well, earning me a silver disc, although they both did very well. This album was produced by Tony Eyers who was a hot record producer at the time."

Twiggy performs one track on this rare DJ only album - It's Delightful, It's Delicious, It's De-Lovely. The album was released to radio stations to coincide with the NBC Television special broadcast on January 17th, 1973.

Twiggy Talks: "I don't remember much about the session except that we did it up front because in the film it is sung to the playback - where as a cast album with a show is recorded way down the line. I do remember though that Ken (Russell) was present throughout the recording of the album." 

To coincide with the the release of the film, MGM released to radio stations this DJ LP that featured excerpts from the film soundtrack along with an interview with Twiggy from a Hollywood press conference.
